The importance of a father-figure...

I just wanted to obtain a perspective on the importance of the father-figure, the attributes, the benefit, the example and so forth.

I have a man who is my father. When it got hard he didn't run off or get stuck useing drugsor hide in a bottle of booze.For his time period he knew one thing hard work and a understanding could change things.
He raised me and fathered(daddied) me and my other sibblings.
Any male can father a child and that includes some test tubes so it's not saying much. But it takes a man to be a daddy.
But it takes Man to be a real daddy(father).

Amber, I feel a father (father-figure) is as important for females as for males. I know both will learn from a good man. Girls learn that a man should be their protector, provider, teacher, confidence builder and most of all show unconditional love. Boys learn how to be those things to their family, what they need to live up to and possibly to surpass their role model - they also learn to have confidence in themselves, after all they saw it first hand from a man they loved..
At least that is what I saw and feel about my father (daddy).

Hello Amber;
I'm new to Tucson and Ebony City so I'll be blunt.Thats the only way I know how to speak, so I tell my trials and what brought me threw. There's a difference between a Father and a Dad to me, a graduation if I may. I've Fathered six Biological children by three different women. Four by my ex-wife, one when I was seperated from my ex-wife. ( intoxicated ), and one by my current wife of 14 years. I Fathered them into this world, but I was young and full of myself. No mentors, no guides and at the end, ready to make an end to myself. Like footsteps in the sand God picked me up, rocked some sence into me, and then put me down to walk on my own. Blessed me with my current wife who's helped me see the real me. Blessed us with our son, my last Biogogical child. He's always called me Dad.The wierd thing about it all is my current wife already had three kids. They don't call me Step-Dad, they chose to call me DAD, They know thier real Father, they tell me. God ment for me to raise four children and show them the best of me. So now I am a Father, a Dad, a Step-Dad, and a Grandfather all by the time I was 35. My two Grand babies are both 6 and they choose to call me Poppa, they are by two of my step kids. Any and every time any of the kids went any where I knew with whom they were going with, numbers, and have already met the parents. We must as men be involved to the max with our kids, even if you did'nt Father them. God put you there. Oopps I've radled to much, to long, sorry.
