Personal Bio

As Coordinator of Student Life for Pima Community College the last ten (10) years I have worked on many citywide and community projects from "Relay for Life" with the American Cancer Society to serving four (4) years on the Africana Studies Committee at the University of Arizona...I have actually been with Pima College for 18 years. I am a Phi Theta Kappa Certified instructor and the last six (6) years, I have taught "Dynamics in Leadership for Pima's Leadership Institute (PLI), and the Fire Science Program. I am a History major with minors in African American Studies and Womens' Studies from the University of Arizona... I love to travel and I have had the opportunity to traveled extensively (lived in Europe ten (10) years. Annually, I take 2-10 students to a national conference called the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity or NCORE... this year 2009, it was in San Diego, CA..I am a recently nominated member of their Marketing and Community Outreach Committee called NAC or National Advisory Committee, I serve on a sub-committee... it is very challenging...
