Personal Bio

When I sit back and consider the significant events in my past, the important aspects of my current life and my future goals, the underlying theme is one of appreciating diversity, especialy across ethnic and socioeconomic class lines.

My name is Sherry Derese Jordan and I was born in Marks, Mississippi, the product of a single parent (mother) with three brothers and we moved to Chicago, Illinois and this is where I have lived all but one year of my life. I attended Englewood High School for four year and I won awards for honor roll my junior and senior year. I also was elected Student Council president in my junior year and elected president for Push for Excellence club in my senior. I worked for Chicago Public Schools part-time through my work study class during my last two years of high school and after graduating Chicago Public Schools offered me a full-time job as an Administrative Assistant. After two years I was promoted to a Data Analyst and after eight years was promoted to a Student Advocate for the next six years. I was unemployed for four months and then I gained employment with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois December 2000 in Marketing National Account as an Account Specialist. Also, I worked part-time with Primerica Financial Services and I was promoted to Senior Personal Financial Analyst in less than eight months. In between the time I started with Blue Cross Shield of Illinois I attended undergrad full-time at Governors State University where I earned my bachelor degree in Psychology (2002) and in 2004 I entered a Masters program at Spertus College in Chicago,pursuing and earning a Masters in Human Services Administration. I wrote a thesis/major Project on helping to integrate non-violent ex-offenders back into society and I won an outstanding Major Project award at the commencement ceremony (2006). I attended New Beginnings Church of Chicago where I service as the leader over the Prison Ministry, part of the ministerial staff and one of the board of directors for Masters Academy School which is apart of the church. I realize my purpose in life is to be a helper to mankind and when I am doing that I am fulfilled.

Life to me means friends and family who I can trust and who trusts me and I am joyous majority of the time and try to see the positive out of every life changing challenge

Again, Sherry Derese Jordan the product of a single parent (mother) set goals to acquire entrepreneurial skills and meet them despite the challenges of life and I did that through the Agency Career Opportunity offered by State Farm. I relocated to Tucson in Sept 08 to start a new business State Farm Agency.
