Hopkins, if your father is Walter, then I do know you. Your parents and mine were responsibile for a lot of good things in this community and I plan on getting that back. The black voice is silent. With all that's going on since the election of the first African American president, the name calling, the over the top racism it is something that I plan on calling attention to. I will be needing help in this endeavor. Is there still an NAACP? Has their mission changed since my father started the NAACP in this state back in the 50's. Then it was an organization that was about justice, fairness and civil rights...it had a purpose. The only time I hear about the NAACP now is a dinner.....what gives? I would rather die on my feet than to live on my knees...Wake up Black Tucsonans....the fight is bigger today than it was back then...get on board when you're called.

Heart-felt thanks. With everything negative going on in the world there must be positive influence of faith, encouragement and freedom that overshadow doubt, discouragement and bondage. Thank you for your support as a fellow eagle that knows how to soar.

Much Love,
Deneene

Today I had the pleasure of takeing my son and grandson to get thier before school hair cuts. I did a search for a barber shop that felt like home. Out of five black barber shops I narrowed my search down to two. That was because I called them all. I listened to the background noise, the person voice, oh and price. Finally I came to my own conclution that the Hopkins Barber Shop was for my boy's and I. I fill God will put us where we should be. Mr Hopkins is a blessing, I saw and herd alot there. It's the Heart of the matter, that Matters !!
